Position Summary EBI is seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist to conduct due diligence services. The successful candidate will perform field assessments of limited/selected property types, interviews, and independent research of local, state, and federal resources. Reporting may include Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and/or Cultural Resources deliverables. This position reports directly to the Area Operations Manager and can be either be a fully remote, work from home position or hybrid from our Burlington, MA corporate headquarters depending on where the successful candidate is located. The majority of clients this position will support will be located in New England, so candidates will need to already be established in this market. This is a field-based position, with upwards of 50% local and regional travel expected. Candidates must have previous experience with travel and be comfortable with this model to be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in environmental science, engineering or related field
  • 1+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting
  • Previous experience with travel and be comfortable with this model to be considered.
  • Candidates will need to already be established in the New England market.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field assessments on various project types.
  • Perform interviews and independent research using local, state, and federal resources.
  • Prepare environmental reports including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, Cultural Resources deliverables
  • Conduct site reconnaissance and sampling activities.
  • Compile and prepare supporting documentation such as site figures and appendices.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Travel to project sites on short notice (typically one week or less) as needed.
