About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Scheduler to provide advanced project scheduling and project controls support for large-scale industrial capital projects. The Senior Project Scheduler will lead schedule development, analysis, forecasting, risk integration, performance measurement, and schedule reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise with Oracle Primavera P6, project controls, integrated cost and schedule management, quantitative risk analysis, and construction/engineering projects. This role will serve as a subject matter expert to project managers, major project teams, directors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Strong knowledge of integrated scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality management.
  • Strong understanding and application of project management standards, processes, guidelines, and tools.
  • Proficiency in risk and quality management tools and techniques.
  • Advanced understanding of project planning and scheduling principles.
  • High level of proficiency with P6 and spreadsheet development, utilization, and controlled manipulation.
  • Ability to develop, analyze, assess, progress, and maintain complex project schedules.
  • Ability to generate and manage multiple levels of schedule hierarchy.
  • Strong schedule database and reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze project schedules.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, conflict resolution, teamwork, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence project stakeholders through situational leadership and effective decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities and communicate effectively with project teams and leadership.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience working as a scheduler ; OR High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of construction or engineering experience , including at least 2 years as a Project Scheduler ; OR Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience working as a Project Scheduler .

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct project schedule development, maintenance, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Develop and manage integrated project schedule and performance baselines.
  • Perform integrated cost and schedule forecasting using quantitative risk management techniques, including Expected Monetary Value (EMV) and Sensitivity Analysis.
  • Develop risk-managed project baselines to measure performance and support corrective, preventive, and predictive actions.
  • Apply quality and risk considerations to schedule development, monitoring, and control.
  • Integrate objective risk management into project baselines and optimize project risk responses.
  • Conduct contract schedule assessments, performance analysis, change management forecasting, and commercial performance reviews.
  • Review contracts for scope and schedule performance and provide recommendations to project management and project controls leadership.
  • Apply core project controls principles across project planning and execution.
  • Review and coordinate project management standards, guidelines, processes, tools, and job aids.
  • Integrate project management systems, processes, people, tools, and techniques to improve project performance.
  • Tailor schedule management processes and develop scheduling tools and techniques to improve schedule performance.
  • Manage continuous lifecycle planning and scheduling with progressive risk forecasting to improve predictability and accuracy.
  • Monitor schedule performance baselines and forecast schedule performance and Schedule Variance (SV).
  • Identify opportunities to prevent or minimize negative schedule variances.
  • Lead schedule assessment and analysis using appropriate methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Integrate risk and quality response planning into project schedules.
  • Incorporate optimal path activities, logic, resource requirements, workarounds, contingency plans, and other corrective actions into project schedules.
  • Implement predictive and opportunity-based schedule actions to improve project outcomes.
  • Prepare standard, advanced, and special project schedule reports for project stakeholders.
  • Drive an integrated project controls mindset across people, processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Support optimization of product lifecycle costing and project cost performance.
  • Serve as a project scheduling subject matter expert for project management teams, Major Project Managers, Directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for corrective, preventive, and predictive actions.
  • Facilitate effective project schedule decision-making through clear communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure scheduling activities comply with applicable industry standards, NiSource Project Management Guidelines and Standards, and industry best practices.
