About The Position

The Project Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing supply chain project quality activities for GVH Advanced Nuclear projects. This role involves assessing potential suppliers, conducting on-site audits, collaborating on process improvements, and managing supplier quality concerns. The engineer will also perform project execution activities focusing on quality control of procurement, define quality requirements with suppliers, provide technical guidance, resolve quality concerns, and execute a supplier quality surveillance program. Disposition of non-conforming products and support for error prevention through corrective action processes are also key responsibilities. The role requires willingness to travel to supplier and customer sites.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university, or High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and manufacturing support, or nuclear quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of quality control, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance systems
  • Experience with electrical/electronic industry standards, including IEEE, IEC, IPC, NEMA, and ANSI
  • Knowledge of analog and digital control systems, including microprocessors, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation and controls
  • Understanding of Instrument & Controls safety system lifecycle, including high-integrity software-based protection and safety control systems
  • Experience with PLC programming, system integration, SCADA configuration, and software testing
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, communication, and supplier collaboration skills
  • Proficient in written and verbal English
  • Ability and willingness to travel to supplier facilities/sites

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of nuclear customers, industry programs, and Nuclear Safety Culture
  • Experience with quality inspections, regulatory compliance, and supplier or customer engagement
  • Familiarity with NDE processes, ASME Code, welding issue resolution, and applicable quality standards including 10CFR50 Appendix B, NQA-1, CSA N299/N285, and ISO 9001
  • Previous or current Quality Lead Auditor certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a nuclear quality role preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems, work across teams, and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Assessing potential suppliers based on quality capabilities, production capacity, and compliance with company standards to qualify new vendors.
  • Participating in on-site audits at supplier facilities to verify quality control processes, documentation, and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality and reduce defects.
  • Maintain detailed records of supplier quality performance, including non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
  • Working proactively with purchasing teams, engineering departments, and other stakeholders to manage supplier quality concerns.
  • Perform project execution activities for Advanced Nuclear projects focusing on quality control of the procurement activities.
  • Work proactively with suppliers to define specific quality requirements, including development of inspection, verification, and qualification processes, in addition to tests and processes to assure products and services meet the GVH and customer quality requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Work proactively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns applying technical and quality expertise to deliver project quality requirements.
  • Execute supplier quality surveillance program for supplier activities.
  • Disposition of supplier non-conforming products
  • Write and review technical quality documents, plans and procedures
  • Support future error prevention through the use of the corrective action processes.
