About The Position

The Project Qualification Specialist is responsible for identifying, qualifying, project-based sales opportunities to support pipeline growth and conversion. This role focuses on engaging prospective and existing customers to uncover project timelines, scope, and decision criteria, ensuring opportunities are well-defined and aligned to sales-readiness standards before handoff to the field or account teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in lead qualification, inside sales, customer-facing sales, or a similar consultative role with strong phone-based customer engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, understand competitive offerings, and uncover cross-sell or upsell opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com or a similar CRM platform, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing priorities and following established processes.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify incoming project leads by engaging customers to understand project scope, budget, timeline, needs, and readiness for sales engagement.
  • Conduct discovery conversations using a consultative approach to uncover customer requirements, project drivers, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate and validate opportunities against established qualification criteria before handing them off to the sales team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity records in Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and adherence to standard processes.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Project teams to improve lead quality, conversion rates, and overall pipeline health.
  • Monitor qualification metrics, identify trends in lead quality, and provide insights that support continuous process improvement.
  • Manage a consistent pipeline of high-quality opportunities while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
