About The Position

Gordian is a leading provider of Building Intelligence™ Solutions, offering insights, technology, and expertise for the entire building lifecycle. They created Job Order Contracting (JOC) and RSMeans Data, helping organizations optimize capital investments, improve project performance, and reduce long-term operating expenses. The Assessment Services group provides building assessments and capital planning services to clients with extensive building portfolios, including universities, corporations, school districts, and government entities. They offer a software tool populated with on-site evaluation data. The Project Manager will lead multiple concurrent capital planning software and services projects nationally and internationally, focusing on project management and service delivery. This role involves overseeing various project types, participating in pre-sales, cultivating client relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction. Project types include facility condition assessments, sustainability and energy conservation assessments, equipment inventory services, and software training. The Project Manager reports to a Project Director and will manage project teams. This is a remote, work-from-home opportunity based in Canada, with an initial training period in Vaughn or Greenville, US, and periodic travel for administrative meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical building systems), architecture, construction administration, facilities management, or a similar professional accredited degree program related to capital assets and/or infrastructure.
  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in building assessments, capital planning, construction or building design project management, facilities management, or similar.
  • Experience supporting government customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Strong consultative abilities and the skills to manage multiple projects of varying size simultaneously.
  • Strong quantitative abilities, including financial and/or construction estimating skills for large projects or portfolios.
  • Strong computer skills including all standard Microsoft business applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be physically able to perform general office tasks such as sitting, standing, lifting 5-10 lbs., and working normal daytime hours.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
  • On occasion, must be able to walk-through buildings and conduct visual observations of building elements, including climbing and descending vertical fixed ladders.
  • National and (rarely) international travel is required.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, LEED or CEM Certifications.
  • Professional Engineer Licensure or Licensed/Registered Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport with project stakeholders and instill confidence in PM abilities.
  • Manage client relationships throughout the project, including communications, change orders, project initiation, on-time completion, service adequacy, findings presentations, project accounting, invoice review, and close-out.
  • Provide daily project management, including database setup, financial tracking, team selection and scheduling, project scheduling, monthly invoicing, internal cost controls, quality control, and final deliverable submission.
  • Ensure the quality of products and services delivered to clients, monitoring assessment procedures, data entry, and database quality control.
  • Produce and deliver high-quality, error-free reports and presentations to clients.
  • Assist sales and other company personnel in positioning services.
  • Support software innovations through contributions and idea generation.
  • Respond to and manage workarounds for software bugs that may impede project progress.
  • Assist with revenue generation and maintain revenue goals on assigned projects.
  • Be aware of the impact of project decisions on revenue and support group revenue goals.
  • Act as a team leader for assessment services staff, providing project support, direction, mentoring, conducting performance reviews, and other personnel management duties.
  • Review team work and make corrections based on knowledge of architectural, mechanical, and electrical building systems.
  • Cooperate and communicate with assessment staff, other project managers, project directors, software engineers, and other Gordian team members.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert and provide technical mentoring to assessment staff.
  • Undertake other assignments necessary for team success, commensurate with skills and experience.
