About The Position

This role involves leading and managing multiple programmatic projects within a portfolio, with responsibility for scope, costs, schedule, methods, and outcomes. The position provides direction for project teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to close-out. Direct involvement in tasks necessary for successful project execution, problem identification and resolution, and collaboration on project objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones, deliverables, and budgets are key aspects of this role. The position utilizes project controls for budget and schedule management, forecasting, performance monitoring, and variance analysis. The individual will work independently, managing action items, change control, meeting agendas, and minutes, and will resolve issues and ensure task completion by setting priorities and managing conflicts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 7+ years of project management experience with projects in the field.
  • Skilled in MS suite, Teams, SAP, Primavera P6 (or equivalent scheduling tool).
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, support development of project plans, manage schedules, track progress, and contribute to the execution of defined deliverables.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, anticipate issues, maintain documentation, and operate effectively under moderate time constraints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and communicate status updates to various audiences.

  • Substation project management, construction, engineering or related utility experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/manage multiple, programmatic projects (between 100 – 150 small/medium projects within a portfolio) with responsibility for results in terms of scope, costs, schedule, methods, and outcomes.
  • Provides direction for the project team and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle including, scoping and project initiation, planning and design, dependencies (e.g., material delivery, environmental, permitting), construction, and project close-out activities.
  • Direct involvement in tasks necessary for successful project execution.
  • Identifies problems and solutions.
  • Collaborates to establish project objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones, and deliverables and budgets.
  • Utilizes project controls in exercising budget and schedule management, forecasting, performance monitoring such as variance analysis, maintaining schedules and project plans, identifying trends, and assessing performance against budget targets.
  • Works independently with minimal project analytical support (e.g., responsible to manage action items, process change control, set meeting agendas, take meeting minutes).
  • Resolves issues and ensures task completion by establishing priorities and resolving conflicts with team members and functional managers.
