Requirements

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in materials management or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office software including Excel - pivot tables & VLOOKUP + Power Point - presentations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proven organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and continuous improvement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives on a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational, exercise sound judgment and work without direct supervision in a team environment.
  • Utilize proven project management skills.
  • Experience developing and applying a project material procurement plan.
  • Ability to effectively manage large data files derived from ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Work in conformance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures and compliance to legislative requirements.

  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts, defect in any equipment or protective device, and any accidents/incidents to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for assigned tasks.
  • Attend all required health, safety and environmental training.
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents where applicable.

  • Supply Chain Canada (or equivalent) designation is an asset.
  • PMP training or certification is an asset.
  • Manufacturing or Engineering education or experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and forecasting the Project Management material budget.
  • Acting as liaison between the project team and the supply chain.
  • Reviewing as sold cost book and leading the creation of the project procurement plan with support for project team.
  • Identifying long lead risk materials and working with project management on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Reviewing and challenging of project standard component selection.
  • Scheduling and hosting project procurement kick-off meetings.
  • Participating in project execution planning meetings to ensure that project parts delivery needs are met in a timely manner through all project phases.
  • Providing weekly updates of project procurement plan, including forecast updates, escalation and risk.
  • Resolving issues with requisitions / drawings.
  • Providing updates as required for project DVM/whiteboard meetings.
  • Acting as liaison between project team and supply chain buyers.
  • Escalating supplier issues and supporting mitigation planning.
  • Attending and participating in design reviews to achieve lowest cost compliant solutions.
  • Understanding the product from initial design and providing early input regarding ease and cost of supply.
  • Maintaining regular product material cost metrics for each project and achieving project cost requirements.
  • Performing on-going reviews of product, service, equipment, and expense usage to identify new opportunities for cost savings.
  • Effective use of historical and other benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing (PPV).
  • Creating and attending post project reviews.
  • Providing design support related to construction of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0 pressure boundary components within the ATS Certificate of Authorization as required.
  • Strictly following CSA N285/NQA Quality requirements as defined within the manual and procedures.
  • Adhering to all ISO procedures and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhering to all health and safety rules and procedures.
