About The Position
This position will support ongoing analysis of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) about the provision of guaranteed income (GI) and additional financial supports for low-income Black young adults (age 18–24) in San Francisco and Oakland. The project aims to address poverty, racism, chronic stress, and their impacts on health through GI interventions. This phase of the project has two objectives: first, to complete the enrollment and recruitment of a comparison cohort of Black young adults; and second, to conduct outreach to all participants to evaluate the longer-term impacts of GI and financial mentoring on participants' future investments (education, employment training), mental health (depressive symptoms and anxiety), and unmet health service needs. The role involves supporting study implementation, including designing participant enrollment and engagement activities, collaborating with community agencies, collecting and entering data, and engaging and retaining participants. The position works with the study team, under the supervision of the Project Director, to ensure smooth study implementation, resolve operational challenges, and maintain participant communication and retention. The role requires cultural knowledge of diverse and low-income communities in Oakland and San Francisco, and/or lived experience relevant to key populations, to enhance participant engagement and retention. This position requires some travel in the Bay Area. The Division of Prevention Science (DPS) is based at the Mission Bay campus and focuses on risk behavior and reduction, epidemiology, evaluation of HIV testing, demographic variables, sexual self-identification, and training for providers caring for HIV AIDS patients.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Gathers and assembles analytical and factual data on assigned problems and issues to prepare reports and/or analyses summarizing information on the assigned issues and commenting on other significance for internal or external constituents.
- Collects data from participants via in-person and remote surveys.
- Maintains data across software and platforms (e.g., word, excel, REDCap).
- Verify data completeness, cleanliness, and consistency by manually going over data-entry fields and cross-checking.
- Using subject-matter knowledge, collects and prepares information for use in discussions and meetings of internal and external constituents.
- Coordinates program planning and collaboration with program/project staff.
- Provides support to participants in the form of referrals to local resources; shares retention challenges and strategies with research team as needed.
- Coordinates enrollment follow-up visits with participants.
- Schedules and provides concise feedback to research team regarding retention procedures.
- Supports collection, quality, and maintenance of follow-up data on participants.
- Participates in administrative/research policy and program project planning and development.
- Perform other duties as needed.
