About The Position

Transmission Engineering is accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and managing the engineering design, requisitioning of material and equipment, land, and construction support of transmission lines, switching stations, and load-serving substation facilities. With minimal supervision, Project Planning Analysts are responsible for analyzing budgets, schedules, material data, preparing reports on capital Transmission projects, and performing various project-related tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze, manage and generate various reports and summaries.
  • Two years of experience in data, financial or technical analysis is required (for Analyst level).
  • Demonstrated ability to create and analyze reports of increased complexity (for Analyst level).
  • Able to set priorities without having full project requirements known (for Analyst level).
  • Four years of experience in data, financial or technical analysis is required (for Analyst Senior level).
  • Experience serving as analytical support lead to the business unit and strategic partners (for Analyst Senior level).
  • Experience with leading and implementing new controls processes to enhance visibility and accuracy on data analysis and forecasting (for Analyst Senior level).
  • Able to monitor, identify and close gaps on technical issues (for Analyst Senior level).
  • Experience as a subject matter expert to train and teach newer employees on processes (for Analyst Senior level).

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to Transmission Engineering.
  • Work Authorization or Purchase orders creation to ensure proper budgetary accounting.
  • Review and track project billing, invoicing, and payment for vendor orders and customer projects.
  • Prepares detailed reports and analyzes monthly journals.
  • Proactively monitor Transmission Engineering projects to provide material or cost risk identification.
  • Assist (Associate) or lead (Senior) in developing internal controls and new processes that enhance visibility and improve accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze project data within assigned programs as required - PIP, EMT, TED, and Everything Else (PETE), Financial Management System (FIM), Maximo, ProjectWise.
  • Prepare reports for various categories, projects, organizational levels, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Assist in (Associate) or lead (Senior) the development of annual forecasting needs to ensure successful completion of Transmission Engineering Objectives.
  • Utilize analysis tools to translate large quantities of data into actionable information suitable for use by various workgroups.
  • Interface with vendors and contractors on reporting, ordering, and issue resolution.
  • Provide documentation as necessary for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) control and audit requests.
  • Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
