Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in planning, engineering, design, public health, or related fields—including advocacy, outreach, program management, or policy work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field. Additional years may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Fluent in Spanish: Communications with Spanish-speaking community members to gather input, answer questions, and support inclusive public engagement.
  • Passion for active transportation and travel options for all ages and abilities.
  • Experience with multimodal transportation planning, virtual and/or in-person public engagement, and fieldwork.
  • Able to manage projects/tasks, collaborate on teams, and clearly communicate technical ideas in writing.
  • Skilled in Excel and comfortable with descriptive statistics.

  • Local knowledge and professional network.
  • Experienced with visual communication (e.g., maps, graphics, or design tools like Adobe or ArcGIS).
  • Marketing and business development experience or interest.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analyses, manage projects/tasks, and engage directly with clients and communities to create plans that move from vision to implementation.
  • Do fieldwork and face-to-face community outreach, travelling occasionally around the region.
  • Work on projects that make travel safer, more accessible, and more equitable for everyone.
  • Center equity, climate, safety, and health in everything we do.
