About The Position

The University of New Mexico Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic individual to serve as Project Officer for Grateful Patient and Family (GPF) Program Operations. Reporting to the Managing Director of Data Strategy and Quality, this role is pivotal in managing the technical, data, and compliance functions of the GPF Program to strengthen healthcare philanthropy. The Project Officer will oversee the daily operations of the program, including data acquisition, validation, maintenance, utilization, and strategy, while ensuring best practices in data governance, HIPAA compliance, and quality assurance. This role partners closely with Prospect Development & Analytics, Information Technology, and UNM Health to drive operational efficiency and compliance. In addition, the Project Officer provides HIPAA compliance training to all program stakeholders, serves as the primary liaison for the GPF Development Officer team, and supports their fundraising efforts through seamless operational and data solutions. By championing innovative, data-driven initiatives, the Project Officer will play a critical role in advancing program growth and long-term success.

Requirements

  • Strong skills in project management, compliance, and data operations.
  • Proven experience in data management, governance, and quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, compliance training, and best practices in healthcare-related data handling.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into actionable solutions for non-technical partners.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience using enterprise systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on accuracy, compliance, and outcomes.
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution OR a combination of some higher education and three years of relevant experience.
  • Three years of related experience in fundraising operations, prospect development, or healthcare development.
  • Experience in database management, training, leadership, and project management.

Responsibilities
