About The Position

Build the Future of Defense Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for leadership? BAE Systems is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Kingsport, TN. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering design and real-world execution at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a technical field required; mechanical, systems, civil of chemical engineering degree preferred
8+ years related experience, including 5 years of experience in engineering design, development, and / or commissioning
2 years in an engineering technical project leadership position
Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with various functional departments and customers
Must be able to foster a positive and inclusive work environment
Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in AutoCAD suite software
Experience in multi-million dollar plant capital sustainment or expansion projects - including industrial construction or modernization efforts
Experience in the chemical process industry or energetics industry
Experience with proposal development
Understanding and experience within cross-functional teams
Experience with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) methodology and substantiating task estimates

Responsibilities

Lead and Mentor: Guide a diverse team of engineers, fostering a collaborative environment to meet complex functional requirements.
Drive Execution: Take ownership of the technical roadmap, ensuring every task is aligned with the project schedule and budgetary goals.
Manage Partnerships: Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring all deliverables meet our rigorous standards.
Bridge Design to Production: Lead the commissioning process and ensure a smooth hand-off to production teams.
Strategic Support: Assist in the growth of the program by developing accurate budgetary estimates and supporting new proposals.
