About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary Design & Engineering team. This role is crucial for supporting projects, particularly those involving United States Federal Agencies. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the mechanical discipline throughout all project phases, from pursuit and proposal to design and construction, serving as the Engineer of Record. This position involves collaborating with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to design HVAC systems, with a focus on sustainable solutions.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required for this position as part of federal employment eligibility requirements.
Experience with Federal Projects.
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering with at least 8 to 10 years of experience or more in consulting engineering and performing facility design.
Experience producing IFC design packages for federal agency facilities.
Professional Engineering Licensure in the United States.
Strong communication skills related to presentations, project communications, and written documents.
Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external team members.
Ability to build additional project opportunities with Arcadis based on those positive relationships.

Nice To Haves

Multiple state licenses are preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead design teams and mentor junior staff to develop construction-ready design packages of drawings and specifications with inter-discipline coordination.
Develop budgets, proposals, schedules, project plans, and staffing plans.
Pursue potential clients and project opportunities.
Lead the mechanical discipline on multiple concurrent projects through pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases.
Serve as the Engineer of Record.
Work with project teams designing HVAC systems on various projects including sustainable solutions.
Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for power system studies, electrical system audits, and collaboration with clients’ team members.
