About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary Design & Engineering team. This role focuses on facility design for United States Federal Agencies. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the mechanical discipline across multiple projects, from pursuit and proposal through design and construction phases, serving as the Engineer of Record. The position involves leading design efforts and collaborating with project teams, including architects, engineers, project managers, and clients, to design HVAC systems with a focus on sustainable solutions.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position as part of federal employment eligibility requirements.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering with at least 10 to 15 years of experience or more in consulting engineering and performing facility design.
  • Experience producing IFC design packages for federal agency facilities.
  • Professional Engineering Licensure in the United States.
  • Strong communication skills related to presentations, project communications, and written documents.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Ability to build additional project opportunities with Arcadis based on those positive relationships!

Nice To Haves

  • Multiple state licenses are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design teams and mentor junior staff to develop construction-ready design packages of drawings and specifications with inter-discipline coordination.
  • Develop budgets, proposals, schedules, project plans, and staffing plans.
  • Pursue potential clients and project opportunities.
  • Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for power system studies, electrical system audits, and collaboration with clients’ team members.
