About The Position

The Project Materials Coordinator is responsible for managing material / labor personnel, subcontractors, and specific operations assigned to the project to ensure that all the needs from the client and Project Management Team are met. Projects will be in locations across the United States. Travel is required. Company Overview Since 1912, Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of experience as a Project Materials Handler is desired
  • Minimum 3 years of material logistics experience
  • Advanced knowledge of material handling and logistics
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good understanding of accounting and inventory management practices
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of IT hardware and software terminology
  • Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
  • Team player

Responsibilities

  • Manage a combination of 4+ laydown yards and Project Material Handlers; perform as the Lead on all logistics planning and execution on construction projects in accordance with scope documentation and project deliverables
  • Manage a Profit and Loss Statement for material handling personnel's time to ensure the gross profit goals are met.
  • Define the scope of work and administer contract for material subcontractors on the project to ensure the project runs efficiently and effectively
  • Oversee project site inventories to ensure that they are secure, identified and readily accessible to authorized personnel
  • Conduct periodic meetings with client and/or subcontractors to review reporting needs and project goals
  • Oversee the process by which shipments of incoming and outgoing material are accounted for to ensure accurate on hand inventory levels
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistical operations including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products
  • Analyze transportation and distribution systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and economical delivery of project materials
  • Administer an effective organization that meets project needs to ensure there are no work stoppages due to the lack of material
  • Utilize proprietary software, process, procedures, and analysis tools to support new projects
  • Other duties as assigned
