Onsite Project Manager
About The Position
NorthStar Energy Solutions is hiring an Onsite Project Manager – Data Center Electrical (Medium Voltage). The Onsite Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation, coordination, and delivery of medium voltage (MV) electrical systems for data center construction projects. This role ensures that all MV infrastructure—such as substations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems—is installed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications and industry standards. The position requires close coordination with contractors, utilities, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Requirements
- Medium voltage (MV) electrical systems installation, coordination, and delivery for data center construction projects
- Installation of MV infrastructure such as substations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems
- Coordination with contractors, utilities, and engineering teams
- Installation of MV systems (typically 5kV–35kV), including switchgear, transformers, feeders, and substations
- Coordination with utility providers for service integration, energization, and outages
- Overseeing subcontractors and field crews
- Reviewing and interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams
- Tracking project progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies
- Ensuring compliance with NEC, local codes, and data center design standards
- Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field documentation
- Conducting site walks, inspections, and QA/QC verification of installed systems
- Supporting commissioning activities, including pre-functional and functional testing of MV systems
- Collaborating with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to resolve coordination issues
- Enforcing safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and energized work procedures
- Providing regular reporting to stakeholders on schedule, budget, and progress
Responsibilities
