About The Position

The Project Manager will oversee self-perform concrete division projects, reporting to a Senior Project Manager or Project Executive. This role involves supervising an Assistant Project Manager and Jobsite Office Assistant, managing project documentation, schedules, costs, and ensuring adherence to safety and risk management parameters. The position requires strong relationship management with design teams, owners, subcontractors, and vendors, as well as active participation in business development and community engagement. The role demands considerable mental effort, sustained concentration, and proactive engagement with company values and goals. Advancement to Senior Project Manager is a likely progression, contingent on demonstrated mastery in cost control, training, understanding of construction components and scheduling, knowledge of estimating systems, relationship management, and business development.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in a relevant curriculum from an accredited college or university + minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Concrete construction experience strongly preferred
  • OR 4-year degree in a non-relevant curriculum from an accredited college or university + minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • OSHA 10 Hour certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (or similar scheduling software/application)
  • Proficiency in Timberline PJ (or similar project management software/application)
  • Proficiency in Viewpoint (or similar AP software/application)
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks, Revit, and SketchUp
  • Mastery of quantity take-off & subcontractor solicitation to support estimating
  • In-depth understanding of building components and trade sequencing
  • Working knowledge of construction surveying/layout
  • Working knowledge of contract language
  • Basic understanding of risk management
  • Considerable mental effort and comprehension required
  • Sustained concentration with frequent interruptions

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all direct responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager; in the absence of an APM, these responsibilities shall be handled directly
  • Supervise submittal and RFI processes
  • Oversee coordination of material deliveries
  • Manage jobsite documentation, including progress photos
  • Oversee job close-out requirements
  • Support jobsite safety enforcement
  • Develop and manage project schedules
  • Track and report project progress
  • Monitor and control project costs
  • Enforce risk management parameters established by the Project Executive
  • Manage change orders and support dispute resolution
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the design team and Owner counterpart
  • Build and maintain relationships with project subcontractors and vendors
  • Ensure positive community exposure
  • Participate in at least one industry or community service organization
  • Take a leadership role in a community service project
