Summary: The Project Manager is an integral member of the Design Engineering team in support of their Business Unit. Primary responsibilities include planning and managing projects through product evaluation and releasing of new products, with primary focus on engineered solutions, product line extensions, and technology development. This person will help create and maintain efficient management processes to meet or exceed product release and delivery targets. They will work closely with Application Engineers, Purchasing, Design Engineers, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Test Engineers, and Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) or Business
  • 7+ years of design or detailed product development experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required; must be able to communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify critical path, communicate and instill a sense of urgency in the team.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach toward the development of new products, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification, Scrum Master, or related project management credentials preferred.
  • Experience in injection molding preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016 preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with RFID, electromechanical devices a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares project plans, schedules, and budgets by using project management tools and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to develop products from conceptualization to launch.
  • Ensures that projects meet product specification/performance and project timeline.
  • Oversees project progress by confirming completion of various department responsibilities.
  • Reports progress and project status to necessary individuals.
  • Develops reports to track and monitor key metrics and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Identifies and leads initiatives for improving CPC project management systems.
  • Maintain accurate information that is readily accessible and meets all ISO documentation requirements.
  • Work effectively with key personnel at our global facilities as it relates to new product development and release.
  • Estimates project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
  • Maintain records of new orders received, dollar volumes, performance, etc.
  • Assists in efforts to resolve product performance issues.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations.
  • Demonstrates support of CPC core values.
  • Performs other job duties as required to meet business needs.
