About The Position

United Grinding North America, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to oversee projects from order receipt through customer acceptance and final payment. This role involves managing project schedules, budgets, personnel, and resources, as well as coordinating logistics for imported machinery, including customs clearance and domestic transportation. The Project Manager will provide technical advice, resolve issues, and maintain project documentation. This position also supports Service and Applications Engineers in the field and contributes to maintaining a technical information database. Additionally, the role involves assisting with procurement, investigating cost-saving measures, and participating in training to advance project engineering capabilities.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in a related discipline; and three to seven years related experience and/or technical certification or equivalent combination of education and related job experience.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical blueprint reading and trouble shooting skills.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD software.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software (ex: Excel, Word and Outlook), Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in customer relations; communicating with and solving customer problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Ability to conduct business in the German language
  • PSP certification

Responsibilities

  • Review project proposals and plans to determine project scope, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of a project.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, review status reports, and implement schedule modifications as required.
  • Manage projects from order receipt through customer acceptance and final payment.
  • Plan and coordinate project personnel and resources to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Assist in coordinating the logistics of machines from their European supplier, including U.S. Customs clearance and domestic transportation.
  • Interface with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Interface with equipment suppliers regarding project requirements and schedules.
  • Coordinate the delivery of supplier components in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain project-related technical documentation and records.
  • Coordinate the information exchange between customer, RSM and internal groups.
  • Support Service and Applications Engineers in the field with questions and concerns while at customers.
  • Assist in maintaining technical information database for product groups.
  • Assist with the procurement of project-related purchased materials, parts, supplies, equipment and services, as assigned.
  • Investigate new developments related to material and supplies and suggest procedures designed to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Participate in applicable training to increase knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve higher level project engineering position requirements.
