About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager to oversee large-scale data center construction projects throughout the Southern United States. This is a full-time, onsite position requiring travel and a hands-on approach to managing project execution from planning through completion. The Project Manager will coordinate subcontractors, field teams, schedules, budgets, and project documentation to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. The role supports complex, multi-year data center construction projects and requires strong project leadership, detailed planning, and coordination across multiple construction disciplines. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing complex construction projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Experience managing commercial or large-scale construction projects; data center experience is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of construction project management, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and cost control.
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail across complex projects.
Proficiency with standard construction project management and scheduling software.
Commitment to jobsite safety, quality, and accountability.
Willingness to travel throughout the Southern United States and work onsite for extended, multi-year project assignments.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day execution of large-scale data center construction projects.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and progress reports.
Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, owners, and other project stakeholders.
Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope requirements.
Oversee procurement, material coordination, subcontractor performance, and change management.
Maintain project documentation, meeting records, cost reports, and schedule updates.
Promote jobsite safety, quality control, and compliance with project specifications.
Lead project meetings and communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to relevant stakeholders.
Support project closeout and ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with contractual requirements.
