About The Position

In this role, You’ll manage renovation projects, oversee smaller contracts, and support the estimating team with project management responsibilities. You will contribute to our growth while upholding the care, reliability, and professionalism our clients expect from Drapeau. This position is based out of our Kingston, ON office.

Requirements

  • 3+ years plus of industry experience is preferred.
  • Able to prioritize work, and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of Construction Job Site Safety to assist with risk assessment planning.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Control and Project Close out process.
  • Strong understanding of Change order and Contract change Management
  • Strong understanding of Construction processes such as RFI’s and Contract Scope of work and contract Specifications
  • Team-oriented mindset with proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract

Nice To Haves

  • Project management experience is an asset including experience with planning, executing, and controlling projects
  • Post-secondary diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field is an asset (not required)
  • Experience in fire protection estimating is an asset
  • Prior Construction Site Exposure is an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French is considered a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Review architectural/mechanical drawings, specifications, and prepare detailed proposals to secure contracts.
  • Conduct site visits and maintain excellent communication with clients, consultants, engineers, contractors, supervisors, and other trades.
  • Coordinate preparation of shop drawings, material lists, safety plans, and field installation details with our installation crews.
  • Manage full project lifecycle, including design coordination, labour scheduling, material procurement, subcontractor oversight, change orders, and project closeout.
  • Oversee, schedule & ensure the completion of the installation of sprinkler systems.
  • Coordinate work with design, fabrication and installation personnel.
  • Coordinate with General Contractor and/or Customer to meet deadlines and project schedule.
  • Order specialty material as needed and participate in fabrication requests for projects.
  • Review change documents and participate in pricing changes.
  • Communicate with office as to extras, change notices, and scheduling needs.
  • Assist with customer inquiries and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Raising the bar in the sprinkler industry by training and equipping field staff
  • Prepare new projects with estimators and coordinate kick off tasks.
  • Track and participate in drawing submissions and applicable permit applications as required.
  • Coordinate testing with the installation crew and applicable parties and ensure all close out documents are obtained.
  • Develop and establish working relationships with the general contractors and owners.
  • Provide details of the completed jobs to the sales team to price the annual inspections.
  • Participate in site visits with Peers in support of field reviews and quality control.
  • Participate in company safety training and programs and provide oversight for staff in safety initiatives
