About The Position

EBC is a leader in major infrastructure projects, including bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, and marine installations. We are seeking new team members to demonstrate our expertise in tunnels and underground works across Canada by participating in major projects nationwide. The Project Manager, under the supervision of the Vice-President of Major Projects – Tunnels & Underground Works, will plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and control project execution alongside the Project Director. This role also involves participation in pre-qualifications, bids, and proposals for tunnelling projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Claims & Change management experience.
  • Previous work experience in tunnelling projects and/or other high risk heavy civil engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of underground construction is of benefit.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam (asset).
  • Available for extensive travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and align team members from internal and Joint Venture Partners.
  • Implement process compliance for internal and external requirements and commitments.
  • Establish Project objectives and implement tracking and accountability.
  • Assume technical and commercial responsibility for contract delivery.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership through clear communication of priorities and tasks.
  • Empower and include key team members in decision-making to maximize project success.
  • Foster a safety-oriented high-performance culture.
  • Ensure consistency in safety performance and fair application of the progressive discipline system.
  • Ensure quality delivery of all contract obligations to meet client and internal expectations.
  • Maximize margins with safety as a priority and ensure company interests throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage, lead, and control projects from start to finish, including staff, subcontractors, and job management.
  • Develop, review, and collaborate on budgets, methodologies, submittals, and schedules.
  • Oversee the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) prevention program and ensure its implementation on site.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of tender documents, drawings, specifications, and addendums, and assist the Site Superintendent.
  • Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Manage document control for correspondence, submittals, RFI’s, NCRs, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of final project records, including as-built documentation.
  • Assist in carrying out various basic field duties at the job site related to general construction.
