About The Position

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Coordinates activities in installation, programming, safety, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or more than 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage skilled trades employees and schedules (regular hours / overtime).
  • Familiar with the union local and national agreements.
  • Oversee small construction projects.
  • Coordinate large construction projects with subcontractor.
  • Confer with managers, instructors, or customer's representative to determine technical training needs.
  • Monitor budget to ensure that costs do not exceed allocated funds.
