At APAC-Mississippi, our Project Managers play a key role in building the infrastructure that keeps our communities moving. You'll lead projects from award through completion, working closely with operations teams, customers, and business partners to deliver high-quality work safely, on schedule, and within budget. In addition to managing project execution, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to estimating efforts when business needs arise, helping shape the next generation of successful projects.

Requirements

  • Experience managing construction projects, preferably within heavy civil, roadway, paving, infrastructure, or related construction industries.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative leadership style and commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Estimating experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Execution
  • Manage asphalt paving projects from award through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and production plans.
  • Partner with Superintendents and Operations leaders to ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and profitability goals.
  • Monitor job costs, productivity, subcontractor performance, and overall project progress.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, trucking, and subcontractor activities to support successful project delivery.
  • Review project quantities, pay estimates, invoicing, and financial performance.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings and proactively identify solutions to keep projects moving forward.
  • Support Winning Work
  • As workload and business needs allow, you may also support estimating activities, including: Reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Performing quantity takeoffs and analyzing project scope.
  • Soliciting and evaluating quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Collaborating with operations and leadership teams to develop competitive bids.
  • Assisting with project handoffs to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to construction.
