The Fort Sam Houston NEC has a requirement to provide AITP services to the installation. The installation has a Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) user base of 8,096 and a Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) user base of 1,120, and 1,510 printers and multifunction devices. There are 54 public NIPRNET web sites, seven (7) Intranets web sites, and one (1) enterprise DISA hosted SharePoint site, and 18 subsites. The SIPRNET has three (3) web sites, one (1) enterprise NETCOM hosted SharePoint site, and 13 subsites. The NEC houses a total of 286 servers of which 64 are managed by the Fort Sam Houston NEC. The network consists of Cisco ASR 9K Series Routers, Juniper Area Core Switches (EX9200 series), Juniper Area Distribution Switches (EX4600), and Juniper Edge Access Switches (EX4300, EX3400 and EX2300), Cisco 4400 series wireless LAN controllers, and Cisco AiroNet1200 series access points. There are 21,641 devices connected on the NIPRNET and an additional 340 wireless devices. The SIPRNET has 139 switches and 125 printers. The following software supports the network operation: Cisco Prime, Junos Space, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Info Vista, NetCool, Secure CRT, Chimera, Cisco Secure Access Control Server, Cisco Wireless Control System, SYSLOGs, ArcSight and Keykeeper. The Fort Sam Houston NEC will continue to upgrade the Data Center and the network and the Cyber Security systems. These initiatives will upgrade the environment and replace equipment with the latest technology of blade servers and virtualization to align with higher command network modernization efforts. The Army Enterprise Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system is the current work order ticketing system (Incident Management).
