About The Position

emergiTEL is hiring a Project Manager for our client in the Financial Services industry. This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension, and it is 100% remote based in Calgary, AB. The role involves partnering with Technology Enablement, Business, and third-party stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. The Project Manager will collaborate with the Program Manager to establish program standards, focusing on quality management and alignment with broader portfolio goals. Key responsibilities include developing and executing detailed project plans, managing resources, timelines, and budgets, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues. The role requires delivering data-driven reports on project status, leading cross-functional teams and external vendors, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Producing and managing high-quality project artifacts is essential for continuity, transparency, and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent professional certification.
• 6+ years of experience leading IT projects with a focus on business process improvement and organizational change management.
• 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional teams on large-scale, high-visibility initiatives.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience managing both internal development teams and third-party vendors.
• Proficiency in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to conduct rapid project discovery and identify hidden risks early in an engagement.
• Demonstrated objectivity and willingness to provide candid project assessments.
• Strong focus on measurable outcomes and milestone-based delivery.
• Expertise in managing scope creep while maintaining stakeholder confidence.
• Tool-agnostic mindset with the ability to adapt to various project management platforms.
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to quickly build relationships and manage diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills that ensure seamless project continuity.

Responsibilities
