About The Position

Stantec is seeking a Water Distribution Engineer to support municipal drinking water distribution projects in Minnesota and the upper Midwest. The role is client-facing and involves leading and supporting the planning and design of drinking water supply, distribution, and storage infrastructure, including wells and wellhouses, pipelines, booster pumps, meter stations, elevated water towers, and ground storage tanks. Projects may span local, regional, and national geographies, and the employee will work with Stantec’s North American Water team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific, engineering, or construction-management-related technical discipline.
At least 12 years of relevant professional experience.
At least 5 years of project-management experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota, or ability to obtain a Minnesota PE license within 6 months.
Proven project-management and technical skills applicable to drinking water infrastructure projects.
Experience organizing, planning, and executing multidisciplinary design projects from pursuit through closeout.
Ability to make sound, defensible business decisions and identify, assess, evaluate, and solve complex problems.
Experience with a variety of process system designs related to drinking water infrastructure.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Identify appropriate resources to achieve project objectives.
Manage contract terms, costs, and schedules, and implement measures to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Deliver technical work, including writing memos and reports and preparing plans, specifications, and other engineering documents.
Support and lead construction administration, including site visits, submittal reviews, and routine construction administration services.
Lead multidisciplinary project teams through successful project execution.
Understand client needs, communicate project status, and lead client presentations.
Lead proposal preparation and business development efforts.
Attend conferences and lead technical presentations.
Mentor and guide a team of professionals.
Assist with identifying and recruiting talent to grow the Stantec team.
