About The Position

The Senior Project Manager will lead and support AI enablement projects for the Government of Alberta’s AI Delivery & Enablement (AIDE) branch. AIDE supports responsible AI adoption to improve productivity, decision-making, and outcomes for Albertans. The role may span one or more of four work streams: enterprise AI licence and consumption enablement; AI cloud platform and integration; governance, security, privacy, and intake alignment; and training, adoption, and change management. Projects include moving AI capabilities from evaluation and time-boxed pilots into governed enterprise services, with appropriate approvals, licensing and cost treatment, training, support, and operational handoff. The Project Manager will manage multiple concurrent initiatives for different directors and sponsors, balancing shifting priorities, shared resources, and dependencies. Responsibilities include project planning and governance, coordinating technical and business delivery, managing vendors and stakeholders, preparing executive-level communications, and ensuring projects align with Government of Alberta policies, security and privacy requirements, responsible AI standards, and enterprise architecture. Resources report to the AIDE Executive Director and may be assigned to directors as priorities require. The position is remote but the resource must work within Alberta and be available for onsite meetings when required, potentially up to 3–4 times per month. Standard hours are 08:15–16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays observed by the Province. The 12-month contract is listed as starting ASAP.
