About The Position

A primary focus of this position is to lead the efforts of Provider Based operations to successfully implement and monitor department projects. The position has responsibility for managing and coordinating multiple projects that impact provider-based sustainability and performance. The position supports the development and implementation of strategic initiatives by assisting with the creation of comprehensive program plans for key organizational initiatives. The position contributes to meeting the objective goals of the organization, which include system provider-based strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to establish WVU Medicine as a premier clinical organization and optimizing reimbursement in every market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Education, Finance or related field OR 1-2 year’s experience with Medicare Provider Based and RHC regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of ambulatory operations, revenue cycle functions, and clinical workflows.
  • Self motivated and flexible in responding to shifting priorities or organizational changes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead special projects and serve as the primary contact between multiple stakeholders, including ambulatory operations, clinical leadership, information technology, revenue cycle, and others.
  • Responsible for management of project communications, deliverables, deadlines, department initiatives, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage efforts to develop reports, develop presentations, and help communicate findings to leadership.
  • Ensures that the designated project is proceeding according to agreed upon timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters (negotiates all changes in project scope).
  • Responds to requests; explores and resolves problems as presented by Department Leadership, IT, clinical departments, and support staff.
  • Assist Director in standardization and process improvement techniques to improve operations. Identify ways to optimize best practices and operational workflows.
  • Initiates programs and projects in direct consultation with Directors and Senior Leadership and coordinates their implementation and completion in collaboration with appropriate internal and external customers.
  • Directs project review sessions with Directors and other project leaders in order to monitor progress against timelines, including issue audits and mitigation steps. Documents project plan progress. Interprets and advises key stakeholders on CMS provider-based compliance per 42 CFR 413.65 and alerts leadership to any pertinent changes.
  • Coordinate and perform onsite gap assessments for provider-based clinics and RHC’s across the health system as needed.
