Requirements

  • Five plus years of experience in commercial and industrial markets.
  • Experience with pre-construction services and estimating is necessary.
  • Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications.
  • May also require working knowledge of scheduling and/or estimating applications.
  • The new team member should be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure that others on the project team support and abide by the company's vision and mission statement.
  • Ensure that goals for safety, quality, scheduling, training, and profitability are met for each project. This includes communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety program on site.
  • Understand contractual terms and conditions in both owner contracts and subcontracts. Must be able to render decisions and/or take appropriate action(s) based on the contractual obligations of all parties.
  • Work with design and engineering subcontractors to ensure project(s) is/are designed, procured and constructed within the boundaries of operating guidelines, while conforming to technical requirements and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate the interrelating activities of subcontractors, suppliers, vendors and customers, design and engineering efforts.
  • Review shop drawings and submittits to ensure compliance with scope of work.
  • Purchase and monitor the delivery of all needed materials for the project(s) ensuring optimum prices, quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Develop job progress schedule to ensure that actual construction parallels with the schedule.
  • Monitor and report on the financial status of the project(s) and is responsible for subcontract and contract administration.
  • Issue changes in the work to receive prices from subcontractors in a timely fashion.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor payment requests.
  • Prepare various reports to successfully manage the project(s), such as monthly red files, progress analysis/schedules, billings and status reports.
  • May be responsible for estimating efforts relative to the project(s) and proposal preparation efforts.
  • May supervise project support team members, as well as subcontractors.
