About The Position

The Project Manager for Power Systems / IPG business will be responsible for the successful execution of complex power generation projects, including mobile and modular power plants, gas turbine installations, cogeneration facilities, and distributed power solutions. This role leads projects from contract award through customer acceptance, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. The Industrial and Energy Technology (IET) team operates across 120 countries, serving the entire energy value-chain and industrial sector with an extensive portfolio of rotating equipment, process flow, transmission technology, and lifecycle services. The Engineering Transformation team focuses on improving the quality of Engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Energy Systems, or related discipline), Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience managing complex industrial, energy, infrastructure, or power generation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing customer relationships in a challenging project environment.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing project profitability, cash collection, and contractual matters.
  • Proven ability to manage project risks, stakeholder expectations, and schedule commitments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Availability to travel internationally to visit customers or Baker Hughes locations.
  • Current work authorization in the country of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree (MBA or Master's degree) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of power generation technologies, gas turbines, generators, balance of plant systems, or large industrial projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with global project management methodologies and execution frameworks.
  • PMP, PMI, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Driving end-to-end execution of power generation projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with contract requirements, scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer expectations.
  • Leading cross-functional and cross-country teams including engineering, planning, procurement, construction, quality, finance, ensuring seamless collaboration and accountability.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating execution, commercial, technical, and supply chain risks while driving opportunities to improve project profitability and customer value.
  • Serving as the primary customer focal point throughout project execution, establishing strong relationships and ensuring proactive communication, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identifying and executing project variations and change orders, negotiating directly with Customer leadership to maximize value.
  • Owning project financials, driving strong outcomes across cost, margin, and cash flow. Lead forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting activities.
  • Supporting construction, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring safe and compliant project execution through successful customer acceptance and handover.
