About The Position

We are adding a Project Manager to our team building the Wilroy Reducing Station project in Suffolk, VA. This major project for the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) will help prevent pollution and provide relief for the regional sewer system during major weather events. This role is responsible for managing project performance, coordinating with field teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will work closely with Superintendents and Project Engineers to plan work, manage costs, and drive overall project success. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in construction project management
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
  • Experience managing teams and leading projects from start to finish
  • Strong leadership and ability to manage project teams
  • Solid understanding of construction operations and project flow
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple priorities
  • Clear communication with field teams, clients, and internal staff
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to make decisions and keep projects moving

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment plant construction
  • Background working with a self-perform general contractor
  • Experience managing complex mechanical or heavy civil projects
  • Familiarity with estimating, preconstruction, and project turnover processes

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project performance including schedule, budget, and client relationships
  • Lead project planning, including budgeting, scheduling, and construction approach
  • Work with Superintendents to coordinate field operations and major work activities
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and project execution
  • Manage pay applications, cash flow, and project financials
  • Support and lead Project Engineers and co-ops
  • Coordinate with preconstruction and estimating teams during project startup
  • Identify and resolve project issues related to scope, cost, or schedule
