About The Position

Enerflex is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our Engineered Systems Project group in Calgary. The projects group is responsible for engineering, design, and manufacturing of projects across the gas processing, compression, power generation, and carbon capture space. Projects such as single modules up to integrated fractionation facilities, propane export terminals, and other integrated facilities where Enerflex is supplying multiple types of industrial modules or full facilities to the same client. In this role, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of modular fabrication projects based at our Calgary engineering and manufacturing hub. From initial proposal and detailed design through fabrication and final shipment, you will lead cross-functional teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with project contract and scope. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, you will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, fabrication, project controls, and operations to drive project success. We are looking for a project manager that can work on a variety of project types, with a preference towards electrical, power generation, and modular industrial gas packaging experience. This position is based out of the Enerflex South East Calgary office at 4700 47th St SE, Calgary.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years progressive project management experience in modular packaging, compression, or power generation projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation)
  • Proven leadership of multi-discipline project teams delivering complex, high-value capital projects in module/fabrication environments
  • Strong understanding of EPC and modular fabrication project lifecycle
  • Expert knowledge of project controls principles and methodologies (WBS, EVM, critical path analysis)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams)
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to interpret complex data and advise senior management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present complex information clearly
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive problem-solving; able to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement solutions under pressure
  • Effective time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

  • Electrical engineering or power generation experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of small to mid-size capital projects ($1M–$30M), including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out
  • Manage project scope, risks, change orders, and contract modifications; secure client approvals
  • Direct cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, project controls, and construction
  • Serve as primary client interface; lead meetings, site visits, and executive presentations
  • Ensure compliance with client and company standards
  • Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance, including contracts and change management
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior team members
  • Prepare and deliver accurate project reports and dashboards to stakeholders
  • Provide guidance to project controls team and support continuous improvement
  • Coordinate technical, commercial, and fabrication requirements from initiation to closeout
  • Oversee scheduling, cost controls, client billings, and change order approvals
  • Liaise with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to align on project delivery
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and negotiate contract changes
  • Perform budgeting, cost forecasting (ETC/EAC), variance analysis, and cash flow management
  • Apply project controls methodologies, including scheduling and earned value analysis
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans and schedules; track progress and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor project performance using EVM metrics (CPI, SPI) and recommend improvements
  • Oversee change management processes for scope, schedule, and cost adjustments
  • Prepare timely reports, including progress updates, forecasts, dashboards, and executive summaries
  • Maintain project documentation, action logs, and RFIs; ensure accountability and follow-ups
