About The Position

Sonaca North America is seeking a Project Manager (Engineering) to effectively lead and manage a wide variety of engineering projects. These projects typically include engineering design, stress analysis, test build, infrastructure, and supply. The role involves monitoring and supervising these activities in terms of workflow, schedule, cost, risk, and customer expectations, as well as monitoring corrective engineering actions. The position requires meeting on-time delivery of project milestones, often with urgent deadlines and the need for careful cost management. Collaboration between Design, Stress, Supply, and the customer is essential. The Project Manager will participate in project progress meetings, critical path meetings, and maintain the critical path for project engineers. Anticipating, analyzing, and reporting potential engineering project risks and countermeasures to Program Management is also a key responsibility. Depending on project workload, this position may also be asked to perform other engineering tasks. Travel will be required to support meetings. The role includes project planning and staffing, directing the work of others, and acting as a lead.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent years of education, training, and work experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in airframe design and/or analysis.
  • 5 years’ experience in a lead engineer role required.
  • Strong leadership ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be proactive, forward thinking, and a self-motivated team leader.
  • Excellent ability to manage priorities.
  • Proficiency using CATIA V5.
  • Highly competent using MS Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collaboration between Design, Stress, Supply, and the customer.
  • Participate in project progress meetings and critical path meetings.
  • Maintain the critical path for project engineers.
  • Anticipate, analyze, and report potential engineering project risks and countermeasures to Program Management.
  • Perform other engineering tasks as needed, depending on project workload.
  • Responsible for project planning and staffing.
  • Directs work of others and acts as lead.
