About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate construction activities for a wide variety of industrial projects, primarily Water/Wastewater plants, but also including factories, production facilities, and data centers. The typical workload involves overseeing one large project or several smaller projects. The Project Manager ensures that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. This role manages Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen, overseeing their work and evaluating their performance. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10+ years’ experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management
  • Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
  • Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Business oriented.
  • Ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy.
  • Outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority to project staff.
  • Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of the project, arranging for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Review project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures, staffing, and resources for each phase.
  • Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules/plans as needed.
  • Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others.
  • Provide technical advice and resolve problems with project personnel.
  • Coordinate project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
  • Analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of the on-site Superintendent to ensure the project is built safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Represent the company in Owner progress meetings.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts and be responsible for project profit or loss.
  • Lead project team in daily field coordination meetings, weekly block schedule meetings, and monthly safety kickoff meetings.
  • Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
