About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager in New York, NY. This role will support the Transportation, Infrastructure/Transmission market sector, and state/local and industrial client sectors, with a particular focus on leading projects in the New York City area. The position is based in New York, offering the flexibility of remote work or working from our New York City Offices. Responsibilities include supporting natural resources field studies, surveys, impact assessment, and permitting. The role also involves completing permitting, arboriculture studies, and the production of NEPA/SEQRA-related documents, as well as restoration of transmission and transportation projects, with a specific focus in New York, New Jersey, and New England states. Remote work is available within the New York City metropolitan area. 5% domestic travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field of study.
  • 8 years of experience as a Civil Engineer or in a related occupation.
  • Experience and skills gained through work experience or in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internship experience managing one to two very complex projects.
  • International Society of Arboriculture Certification.
  • Working with clients with a national or geographic footprint.
  • Leading projects involving full spectrum of services by IE.
  • Working with projects with complexities, including leading due diligence efforts, environmental protection issues and litigation.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Transportation, Infrastructure/Transmission market sector, state/local and industrial client sectors.
  • Lead projects in the New York City area.
  • Support natural resources field studies, surveys, impact assessment, and permitting.
  • Complete permitting, arboriculture studies and production of NEPA/SEQRA-related documents.
  • Oversee restoration of transmission and transportation projects.
  • Manage all phases of project from kickoff to closure.
  • Oversee field crews for accuracy and safety.
  • Lead other project managers.
  • Provide consenting and regulatory authority for approvals.
