Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
  • Must understand the entire construction process from design to project close-out; including bid analysis, budgeting, writing scopes of work, document interpretation, design-build and negotiated projects.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, complete tasks, and address issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to project team.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Accubid, PlanGrid, ProCore.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relations with customers, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently.
  • Ability to maneuver between office and jobsites.
  • Ability and willingness to travel out of state to support Infrastructure projects.
  • Must be eligible to pass airport badging process.
  • Valid Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with General Contractors, Project Owners, Subcontractors, and vendors to promote project success.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact from the preconstruction phase through project closeout.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring a clear understanding of the project.
  • Facilitate coordination between Field Operations and Preconstruction, actively engaging in project plan implementation.
  • Review construction documents for inconsistencies and develop RFIs.
  • Perform detailed estimates for revised construction documents and provide clarifications.
  • Review and interpret specifications, coordinate discrepancies, and manage items outside the basis of design.
  • Create subcontracts, manage buyout, and ensure terms limit company risk and clearly define scope.
  • Partner with Contracts to review contract language, confirm scope, determine timelines for notices, and ensure schedule milestones are achievable.
  • Identify long lead items and track project procurement.
  • Set up project budgets, track costs (labor, material, subcontractor, equipment, overhead), and ensure accuracy in Spectrum.
  • Determine and set up project labor tracking strategies.
  • Gather and verify labor hours with the project team.
  • Monitor and manage the overall procurement and construction schedule, escalating potential impacts and maintaining documentation.
  • Collect feedback from the field team for accurate information for CTCs (Cost to Complete).
  • Create projections for CTCs and provide to the Project Executive.
  • Prepare accurate monthly cost projections for each project, actively engaging with labor tracking and look-ahead schedules.
  • Oversee timely project requirements and documentation, including submittals, RFIs, delay notices, potential claims, and extended overheads.
  • Maximize cash flow by balancing project costs with income, facilitating buyouts, understanding trends, submitting billings, and negotiating change orders.
  • Proactively assist subcontractors with billings, change orders, and negotiations.
  • Coach Project Engineers and Sr. Project Engineers for successful accomplishment of their key results.
