About The Position

Winward Electrical Services in Ogden, Utah is seeking a detail-driven Project Engineer to support estimating and day-to-day project operations. This role keeps projects organized and on track by collecting and managing job data, coordinating documentation, supporting billing and scheduling, and assisting the Project Manager from startup through closeout. Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience.
  • 3–5 years of electrical construction experience (residential, commercial, or light-industrial) in project support, estimating, or coordination.
  • Working knowledge of construction management software (e.g., Accubid, Procore, Primavera P6).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates effectively with field teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specs, and related documents to define scope and support accurate cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and verify bid quantities.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing for scope alignment and value.
  • Assist with submittals, work plans, bid packages, and field job packets.
  • Support subcontractor pay application reviews with field staff and the PM.
  • Assist with planning, cost control, scheduling updates, procurement coordination, and contract administration.
  • Compile and verify daily labor, equipment, and production reports.
  • Track budgets and flag potential variances.
  • Manage punch lists and coordinate timely completion with field supervision.
  • Support material delivery and handling logistics.
  • Prepare organized project closeout documentation.
  • Conduct site safety audits and assist with JHAs and required safety documentation.
  • Coordinate bid bonds, performance bonds, and insurance certificates as needed.
