With around 50 non-stop destinations and 12 airline partners, YEG is continuing to offer more flights to more places, while ensuring a safe, sustainable, and welcoming environment for all. As the Project Manager, you will be accountable to provide project management services for Edmonton Airports’ Capital Program. The Capital Program at Edmonton Airports consists of a variety of project types supporting our Maintenance, Growth and Real Estate Development priorities and the individual project values range between $50K to several million dollars. Focus will initially be on Airside and/or civil projects with an opportunity to deliver a wide variety of work.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction, or related field.
  • A professional designation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Project Management Professional designation is considered an asset
  • 5+ years of project management experience managing increasingly complex, multi-year capital projects in a heavily regulated environment where avoidance of operational interruptions is paramount
  • Solid foundation and understanding of project management methodologies
  • Experience in Airfield/Airside focused projects is an asset
  • Experience in real estate and commercial development is an asset
  • Experience/knowledge of airport construction/operations is an asset
  • Experience writing project reports and executive summaries
  • Strong knowledge of construction and design
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work in a cross-functional, highly complex, operational environment; ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a productive manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • A strong leader with exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • A strong multitasker with excellent prioritizing skills
  • Able to manage difficult situations and overcome them in a professional and constructive manner

  • Ability to analyze, communicate and address complex issues independently and/or with the support of project resources
  • Experience with project management systems and collaboration tools (MS Project, Teams, etc.)
  • Intermediate level computer skill in windows-based applications (Excel, Access, Work Packages)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent)
  • Ability to secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and acceptable criminal record check

Responsibilities

  • Successfully execute projects achieving budget, schedule, scope and quality requirements in accordance with internal project management processes using strong leadership and project management technical skills
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop project scope, budget estimates, resource requirements and procurement and execution strategies that achieve business needs.
  • Share your expertise in project delivery with other internal groups as an internal subject matter expert
  • Exemplify high safety standards ensuring safety compliance on every project and regularly report on safety targets
  • Contribute to achieving business goals by utilizing your skills to complete other assigned objectives as required to achieve Edmonton Airports’ Strategy
