About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking a Project Manager for the Office of Economic Development (OED). This role will support the OED in managing the operational, marketing, and logistical aspects of the NSF Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Desert and Pacific Region Hub program. The Project Manager will be responsible for project management of the I-Corps program, ensuring it meets success metrics and timelines, and aligns with institutional and grant objectives. The role involves planning, organizing, and implementing I-Corps courses, participating in regional cohort activities, and acting as a point of contact for faculty, researchers, and students. The Project Manager will guide and train entrepreneurial teams, develop and implement marketing and communication strategies, manage program timelines and deliverables, and coordinate with constituents to promote success stories. This includes creating and managing content for marketing channels, updating the UNLV I-Corps website, and ensuring brand guideline alignment. The position also involves coordinating campus outreach, managing program documentation, building stakeholder engagement, participating in planning meetings, and ensuring alignment with other OED initiatives. The Project Manager will coordinate program execution and performance, ensuring initiatives are well-planned and executed, and will be responsible for continuous improvement of the program. A strong understanding of the startup ecosystem is required. This position is grant-funded and contingent upon the availability of funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with a preference for focus in marketing, entrepreneurship, or other related concentration from an accredited college or university.
  • Three to five years of experience.
  • Understanding of university technology commercialization and innovation ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communication strategies.
  • Knowledge of digital tools and platforms for content and stakeholder management (e.g., Canva, Adobe, Capcut, Constant Contact, or other similar programs).
  • Knowledge of maintaining branding guidelines per the university and federal grant funding requirements.
  • Knowledge of startup ecosystems and university-based ventures.
  • Understanding of grant-funded program requirements and reporting.
  • Strong project planning, organization, customer service, and execution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Ability to define priorities, manage timelines, and drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to coordinate across diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Ability to align program execution with strategic goals.
  • Ability to meet guidelines established by UNLV and the funding authority.
  • Ability to implement solutions proactively in order to meet program goals.
  • Proven ability in managing and maintaining digital platforms.
  • Ability to deploy educational training materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education, innovation programs, or economic development.
  • Experience with NSF I-Corps or similar innovation and entrepreneurship programs.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and university technology transfer data management systems (Minuet, Wellspring, KSS, Cayuse, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project management of the I-Corps program, meeting success metrics and timelines, and ensuring alignment with institutional and grant objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and implement the delivery of I-Corps courses and participate in regional cohort activities.
  • Act as a point of contact for participating faculty, researchers, and students, and guide/train entrepreneurial teams.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive integrated marketing and communication strategies aligned with OED and NSF program goals.
  • Manage program timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate with I-Corps constituents to promote success stories and best practices.
  • Create and manage content for marketing channels (website, social media, newsletters, press releases).
  • Update and maintain the UNLV I-Corps website and digital platforms, ensuring alignment with UNLV, NSF, and OED branding guidelines.
  • Coordinate outreach across campus (faculty meetings, orientations, department presentations, student outreach).
  • Manage shared program documentation and communication channels.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder engagement pipelines and contact databases.
  • Participate in Hub-wide planning and marketing meetings.
  • Ensure alignment across OED initiatives (RebelForge, SBDC, tech transfer) to avoid duplication or conflict.
  • Coordinate central program execution and performance, ensuring initiatives are well-planned, resourced, and executed without conflict.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the UNLV I-Corps program.
  • Support and execute the deployment of I-Corps cohort training programs.
  • Track program data in confidential client files.
