About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate construction activities for a wide variety of industrial projects. Project types range from Water/Wastewater plants (primarily) to factories/production facilities, and data centers across a wide variety of industries and clients. The typical workload involves overseeing one large project or a couple/several smaller projects. This role ensures that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. The Project Manager manages Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen who supervise construction employees, and is charged with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10+ years’ experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required
  • Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
  • Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Business oriented person.
  • Ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • PE credentialing is not required but is a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Confer with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities, and authority.
  • Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project, arranging for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
  • Review project proposal or plan to determine the timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources to various phases of project.
  • Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules/plans as needed.
  • Prepare project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Coordinate project activities with activities of governmental agencies and subcontractors.
  • Understand and be able to analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Represent company in Owner progress meetings.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts and be responsible for project profit or loss.
  • Lead project team in daily field coordination meeting, weekly block schedule meeting, and monthly safety kickoff meeting.
  • Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
