About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. The person hired for the position of Project Manager will lead large, complex, high-priority New Product Commercialization programs within the Consumer Business Group (CBG) and support advancement of project management capability across the business. This role is accountable for driving execution across highly cross-functional teams while managing timeline, resourcing and critical issue resolution. Here, you will make an impact by: Leading a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, and business personnel to define areas of opportunity, value proposition, technical approaches, intellectual property, and manufacturing options ultimately leading to successful commercialization. Being accountable for maintaining project schedule, scope, deliverables, budget, risk management, stakeholder/customer communication and approvals, and other key project deliverables. Providing task-level guidance to team members as necessary and using influence to lead the team in identifying key milestones and driving decisions to closure. Having expertise in technical functional areas sufficient to carry out leadership duties, contribute to advancement of the team, and to effectively leverage a network of company resources. Training, coaching, and supporting project leaders and team members in project management best practices, while helping strengthen project management capability across the business. Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Eight (8) years of project management and/or team leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline from an accredited institution
New product development experience
Experience with New Product Introduction Process and Executing Gate Reviews
Consumer product development experience
Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
Ability to influence including clarifying risks and opportunities with stakeholders
Experience leading global cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project
Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
