The Project Manager oversees commercial and industrial structural steel and precast construction projects from initial planning through field installation, turnover, and final closeout. The role requires direct structural steel project management experience with a structural steel contractor, steel fabricator, or specialty steel erection company, along with a strong understanding of the full project lifecycle: engineering, detailing, fabrication, procurement, transportation, and field erection. Candidates whose experience is limited to general commercial construction do not qualify. The Project Manager coordinates project stakeholders and activities across office, fabrication, and field operations; manages schedules, budgets, purchasing, project documentation, jobsite logistics, and financial performance; and works with field teams to support safe, efficient installation. The position also oversees quality and safety obligations, inspections, punch-list completion, warranty obligations, handover, and closeout. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Milwaukee or Southeastern Wisconsin, or be able to commute reliably to the project location. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. The employer offers performance-based bonus opportunities, health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, company holidays, professional development and continuing education opportunities, long-term career growth opportunities, and a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
