About The Position

Glass Roots Construction (GRC) is seeking a high-performing Project Manager to lead our underground utility projects from inception to completion. As GRC continues to scale, this role serves as a pivotal bridge between our strategic goals and field execution. You won’t just be managing tasks; you will be the primary driver of project profitability, client relationships, and operational excellence. This is a leadership position designed for a proactive problem-solver who can navigate the complexities of civil construction while mentoring our field teams and ensuring GRC remains the gold standard for safety and efficiency in the Reno area.

Requirements

  • Must have (4) years of familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.
  • Must have (2) years of all Telecom construction and design aspects, especially for FTTx.
  • Must be able to manage multiple aggressive RFP and design construction schedules and responses.
  • Must be able to understand and read construction documents.
  • Must be comfortable delivering reports directly to the CEO.
  • Ability to lead a team by being a good and effective communicator
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellence in the budgeting of financial resources
  • Proficient with Email, MS Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), G Suite (Sheets, Slides, etc.) and Google Earth.
  • 25 % Travel is Required

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of construction vendors to expedite the construction and splicing of fiber networks.
  • Oversees timely permitting submittal and on time performance of engineering and construction vendors.
  • Provides direct interface with customers, subcontractors, jurisdictional authorities and interoffice personnel.
  • Managing both internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime, such as poor planning designs, and government policies, which directly or indirectly affect the project
  • Procuring and allocating resources to ensure there is no shortage while avoiding any unnecessary delays caused by management decisions
  • Support in the development of RFI/RFPs for the engineering and construction of new projects.
  • Creates and tracks project budgets in relationship to Network Operations.
  • Develop and update processes and procedures to streamline workflows.
  • Ensure that all work is maintained in a tracking system with complete accuracy.
  • Required occasionally to meet with various municipalities and vendors to review project scope and to ensure positive communication is maintained.
