SubCom is seeking a Project Manager to deliver large-scale undersea telecommunication projects, aiming to meet or exceed original budgets. The role functions as a P/L center, focusing on increasing margin through project savings, upselling, and contract variations. Project Managers are expected to align project strategies with company goals and manage projects through all phases, including engineering, production, installation, and testing, by leading cross-functional teams. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, both internally and with customers, as well as the ability to identify and mitigate risks, handle ambiguity, and adapt to new plans and changes while minimizing company risk. The Project Manager will be the primary customer contact for negotiations, decision-making, scheduling, and problem-solving, monitoring and reporting performance against plans to ensure contractual, cost, and schedule objectives are met. Duties include managing budgets and schedules, serving as a liaison for cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, sales, production, finance, marine, quality), and issuing customer commercial notices. Ensuring team awareness of project strategy, objectives, risks, and mitigations is crucial. SubCom fosters a culture that values creativity, thoughtful risk-taking, openness to change, and diverse perspectives, offering opportunities for career advancement in an innovative and stable organization since 1953.
