About The Position

LaRiviere, Inc. is looking for a motivated project manager to oversee projects for our excavation division in the Lewiston, Idaho / Pullman Washington region. Experience with heavy civil work (roads, bridges, water & sewer installations) is required. This position involves a combination of office work and site visits to construction projects.

Requirements

  • Experience with heavy civil work (roads, bridges, water & sewer installations) is required.
  • Reads blueprints
  • Writes technical and professional reports and correspondence using proper spelling, grammar and style.
  • Communicates information and responds to questions individually and in small groups
  • Applies common sense understanding to carry out simple written and oral instructions.
  • Must have visual acuity to see and read paper and electronic documents.
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Requires continuous and repetitive arm-hand-eye movement

Responsibilities

  • Successfully managing all aspects of heavy civil construction jobs, including roads, bridges, site work and utilities.
  • Managing all phases of subcontracts from initial receiving through contract execution.
  • Reviewing project buyouts to ensure materials and/or subcontractors are accurate and correct as required by the project.
  • Creating purchasing orders/subcontracts as necessary.
  • Coordinating with purchasing to ensure prompt procurement.
  • Initial setup of project into system software including project budget.
  • Creating a cost-loaded project schedule based off of contract start and end dates.
  • Maintaining the schedule by updating progress and delays to ensure the master schedule remains up to date.
  • Scheduling and conducting preconstruction meetings with the project team prior to work beginning on site.
  • Attending onsite weekly meetings with the superintendent as necessary.
  • Conducting jobsite walks with the superintendent for quality control, progress, work within scope and potential change orders.
  • Pricing and submitting change orders to GC/Owner and entering budgets & costs into system software program.
  • Reviewing and approving material and subcontractor invoices within the system software program.
  • Reviewing project labor reports with the superintendent to ensure the project remains on track and within budget.
  • Working with the corporate accounting manager to create monthly billings for each project within the system software program.
  • Assisting the estimating department with bidding and project takeoffs.
  • Demonstrating role model behavior on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting company culture.
  • Maintaining open communications with all departments and personnel in regard to safety, job efficiency, product quality, and customer service.
  • Complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Helping find new projects and helping the company meet its goals.
