About The Position

The Project Manager works with the Building Engineer to determine facility needs for events, including event set ups and post-event cleaning. This role assists in major and minor building repair and routine cleaning, as well as general maintenance and upkeep of the facility. The Project Manager serves as a liaison to University departments to manage building systems, including but not limited to: Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI), Athletics IT, and Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) Lock and Key Services. The role involves developing a cost-effective plan and schedule for project completion, ensuring projects run according to schedule, meet financial objectives, and align with university core goals. The Project Manager will coordinate pricing and proposals with contractors, monitor construction timelines, and ensure contractors maintain schedule and budgets. Additionally, the Project Manager supervises student workers performing various projects, assists with recruiting, orientation, and training of student workers, and aids in payroll processing and other administrative functions. This role also prepares event reports and checklists. The Project Manager may be required for 24-hour emergency calls and must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 0 years of relevant experience required.
  • Familiarity with state and local building codes required.
  • Microsoft Office software knowledge required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work long hours and a flexible schedule; including evenings, weekends and holidays required.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience managing design and construction projects, facilities management or planning or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of building systems, design and construction techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of customers and management levels.
  • Proven organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Ohio Building Code (OBC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) preferred.
  • Experience negotiating contracts desired.

Benefits

  • The target hiring range for this job profile is $ 24.76 - $32.33/hr.
