About The Position

Steampunk is seeking a creative and hands-on Project Manager to lead the complete life cycle of solution development and delivery for innovative technology solutions. This role involves providing Agile Project Management and Scrum Master support to Agile teams, coordinating with product owners and stakeholders on backlog prioritization, creating release schedules and roadmaps, and establishing technical practices and release management standards. The Project Manager will ensure the team effectively follows Agile scrum processes and drives high client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years managing IT projects using agile methodologies and approaches
  • 5+ year experience with Scrum/Kanban Methodologies
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
  • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a complex engineering environment
  • Local to the Washington, DC Metro area
  • Required to be onsite 2x per week

  • Experience working in a studio / human centered design approach
  • PMP or PMI CAPM
  • Certified Scrum Master

Responsibilities

  • Leading project tasking and delivery in a government client consulting environment.
  • Serving as a client liaison, team coach, and mentor.
  • Managing and maintaining successful relationships with the client and identifying new opportunities.
  • Developing and driving high-level strategic initiatives.
  • Managing remote project delivery teams.
  • Facilitating technical discussions to troubleshoot project implementation issues.
  • Assessing the current organization and delivery environment and recommending optimal Agile practices.
  • Providing Agile Scrum Master support and attending Agile ceremonies.
  • Removing blockers to ensure project success.
  • Coaching the Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization.
  • Handling challenging client situations and offering technical and business guidance.
  • Leading and managing staff, and monitoring staff performance.
  • Evaluating project feasibility, eliminating non-productive tasking, and finding creative ways to ensure and accelerate project delivery.
  • Assisting staff with training needs for skills expansion and career advancement.
