About The Position

Brudis & Associates, Inc. (BAI) is actively seeking a Traffic Engineer/Project Manager for immediate employment in our Columbia, Maryland office. The qualified candidate will supervise other staff as part of the design team and complete traffic engineering design project assignments. The projects will include, but are not limited to, traffic design for maintenance of traffic (MOT), signing, pavement marking, and signals, along with cost estimation associated with design, traffic engineering studies and analysis, speed studies, and signal timing (evaluation and optimization), and review and verification of data collection for manual/machine traffic counts and inventory programs.

Requirements

BSCE in Civil Engineering
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in traffic engineering
Registered Professional Engineering in Maryland (or ability to obtain reciprocity)
Registered Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
Knowledge of SHA, Maryland County DPW, and other State DOT Guidelines/procedures
Knowledge and ability to work using MicroStation, AutoCAD and other engineering design software programs
Knowledge and ability to use Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, and other traffic analysis software programs
Experience supervising staff
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

Work independently and as a team to complete smaller projects or portions of larger projects
Work on traffic engineering design/analysis for transportation improvement projects
Use advanced knowledge of engineering software, such as MicroStation
Prepare task assignment proposals (scope and man-hour estimates)
Contribute to proposals associated with business development and contract pursuits
Supervision of, between 2-3 junior design engineers/technicians
