About The Position

Railpen is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Change & Transformation (C&T) team on a permanent basis. This role involves regular office attendance in London with a hybrid working model. Railpen is responsible for managing approximately £34 billion in assets and several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme. The company focuses on serving members today and positively impacting the communities and world they will retire into. The Project Manager will be a key member of the C&T team, responsible for project delivery, driving efficiency, and enhancing performance. They will ensure adherence to Railpen's Change Management approach throughout the project lifecycle and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver projects supporting the company's strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience delivering change, ideally within the asset or investment management environment.
  • Comfortable operating with strong controls, auditability, and clear evidence-based governance.
  • Ability to work within a complex change environment and deal with ambiguity.
  • Exceptional project management and planning skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Proven capability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of business stakeholders, including senior and ExCo-level leaders.
  • Credible, confident communicator with the ability to influence at a senior level.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading or being at the forefront of change across front, middle, and back office environments.
  • Working knowledge of fund structures, fund accounting, and/or transfer agency.

Responsibilities

  • Play a crucial role in project delivery within the Change & Transformation (C&T) team.
  • Drive efficiency and enhance overall performance through project management.
  • Contribute to the C&T team by ensuring the Railpen Change Management approach is adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders across the company to successfully deliver projects supporting Railpen’s strategic goals.
  • Operate with strong controls, auditability, and clear evidence-based governance in line with project standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of business stakeholders, including senior and ExCo-level leaders.
  • Keep stakeholders fully informed on progress to ensure engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Clearly articulate strategy and vision.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery through exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
